The pack has been designed specifically to help pupils progress through the levels of the attainment target with particular emphasis on historical enquiry. It includes a teacher's handbook, background information on the sources and suggestions for using the sources in the classroom.

The pack contains:

  • A2 full-colour poster with a picture of building a tower from The Bedford Hours
  • 15 full-colour laminated A4 cards with picture sources of men and women at work from Christian, Jewish and secular illuminated manuscripts
  • 16 A4 laminated cards with background information on each source for pupils
  • Glossary and information about medieval illuminated manuscripts for pupils

Plus a teacher's handbook with suggestions for using the sources, and provenance notes on all the sources.
