How to order this book
Medieval Crafts: Men and Women at Work
draws on the extensive collection of medieval illuminated manuscripts
in the British Library to support the teaching of Medieval realms at KS3. It gives
direct and easy access to attractive primary sources, many of which are
not available elsewhere.
The pack
has been designed specifically to help pupils progress through the
levels of the attainment target with particular emphasis on historical
enquiry. It includes a teacher's handbook, background information on
the sources and suggestions for using the sources in the classroom.
The pack
contains:

full-colour poster with a picture of building a tower from The Bedford Hours
- 15
full-colour laminated A4 cards with picture sources of men and women at
work from Christian, Jewish and secular illuminated manuscripts
- 16 A4
laminated cards with background information on each source for pupils
- Glossary
and information about medieval illuminated manuscripts for pupils
Plus a
teacher's handbook with suggestions for using the sources, and
provenance notes on all the sources.
