328g.Attempts to list all extant remains as at the outbreak of war in September, 1939. The main body of the book is a gazetteer listing houses by county, and mentioning any significant features. Two concise early chapters describe the monastic orders and and the parts of a monastery, and there are several brief appendices giving other background information.
