There's the remotest possibility that you won't be able to find the book you're looking for on this site. Not that it's impossible - one or two people have found exactly what they want and have been quite complimentary. But I just don't want you going all Dante on me*  after spending hours scouring around the attic and not finding the very thing you're looking for.

What you can do is use the contact links at the top of this page to let me know about it, then I can let you know if I find a copy. I'll need to know the author and title, and you might also mention:

  • If you are collecting a particular series of books, the title of the series, and its publisher(s)
  • Any particular edition you may require - this is particularly important if a book has gone into a second or later edition
  • Hardback or paperback? (if applicable)
  • The maximum price you're willing to pay (v. important), and the kind of condition you're willing to accept it in (see the book descriptions page for assistance on this)
  • How urgent is it? I might come across a copy in another six months or a year or more - are you likely to still want it by then?
  • Please mention if you do NOT want your email or other details passed on to other booksellers or enquiry agents who might be able to help - in general I would only pass on your email address to someone I thought could help with your specific enquiry
  • (and of course, you will not be added to the medievalbookshop mailing list just for making an enquiry - you are welcome to join it, but you must to make a specific request to be added)
  • What country is your delivery address in? Not an essential detail, but useful for giving some idea of the postage costs if I can track down a copy of the book.
  • Anything else you think is important

I can't offer a full-on booksearch facility for the moment, though some of the dealers listed on the other booksellers page can, and it's always worth contacting them anyway in case one of them has what you want in stock.

* (you know, all that streaming tears and gnashing teeth stuff, and tearing out of hair, not to mention running round with no clothes on)
